Seems like a great game, 9½/10. That's cause Spiders are so spooky to me. Takes talent to make it so realistic. Maybe if you can, in the future you can even add chapters with maybe different spider breeds on each floor to escape the building? You can make fair money off of your work, the possibilities are endless. Love your work.

Thank you I really wanted to make sure I made the AI for the spide rbehave as close as possible to the real thing. And thanks to GiM and their amazing work on the spider's animations, I was able to really sell that realism!
I do plan on adding more content, with a bigger level with more spider species! Please be on the lookout for the sequel!
The spider wouldn't go upstairs for me, and I couldn't find the spider at the end of the game. I still enjoyed it though! The thumps of the feet were so good. The atmosphere and the spider gave me goosebumps!

It was dark and creepy in all the right ways, and it was mostly quiet for a very good reason as opposed to the average modern horror lack of ambient sound for no discernable reason. Hearing the footsteps of the big boy (or girl, or however they identify lol) was BEYOND unsettling. The collection mechanic is a time-worn concept in horror games, especially indie horror games, but the game was immersive enough to make me feel desperate in my search for x, y, and z. So much so, that I never bothered to litigate the fetch-liness of the quest. lmao
I am so happy you are working on an expansion to this concept and you better believe you'll have one dork Youtuber signing up for it on DAY ONE when it comes out. XD haha

I don't suffer from arachnophobia, but when i saw the thumbnail of this game... OMG! I was creeped out. Please make a game about Thalassophobia (I suffer from it) and combine it with Megalophobia, it would he amazing! Thanks
This Game was an anxiety ridden but thrilling one. I had fun although my skin was raised the entire time. I would've liked the option to be able to check my inventory. The spider terrorizing me consistently made me forget which ingredients I had and/or needed, but there was no way to check my inventory. Also, I loved that I was able to see where the spider was held in its original cage. I wanted to go into it so bad. Other than that, I loved it, and I hope you make more levels with different spiders or something. Weaver spider would be sick.
Hey! When I originally was making this game, I didn't really think it would be this popular and it was more for a portfolio piece, but now I will definitely be expanding it to the consoles. I also for that reason didn't anticipate ever having an issue with the link being too in demand so I am currently working with Itch to get the game on here with no link. I will not need dropbox. Have you thought about trying to put this game on steam? I think it would be a wonderful idea! Along with many others it seems, I too am having a hard time trying to get it to work on my computer, BUT I would absolutely buy this if it were on steam!

Good short game just one thing seems the spider doesn't go upstairs? Made the game pretty easy since i just went upstairs to out maneuver him , just wanted to see if this is normal if not might be a bug
is it normal that the spider is not moving in the beginning of the game because everytime I play a new game it’s just not moving until I get close and then he starts moving and i get a heart attack and I instantly die. Do I have to wait to go to there or is it an bug?
Yes the spider is intended to hide and wait at the beginning of the game. If you see the spider is hiding in that location, its best not to go near there and find another route. The point of the game is to not get close to the spider. The spider has two states when its not engaged with the player, hide and wait, or it can be patrolling. If its hiding and waiting, it will not move. It is not a bug.

Gonna try running this using Lutris (which uses WINE / Proton) on Linux. I'll let you know if it works after I get off work tonight! EDIT: Works just fine; prompted to install C++ Redistributable, which succeeds, then game launches. Using GE-Proton 9-26 for the Wine version (in runner options).
Currently the game will automatically turn the flashlight on and off based on if you are in a safe area or not. I plan on changing this to give the player more control soon!
